Why Teach?

E-mail Print PDF

Not only will you be making a difference in the lives of others, but teaching is doing and it is one of the most powerful ways that you can learn. Learn by doing (teaching, giving back). As you can see from the cone of learning below, "doing the real thing" is by far the best way to learn. Pay Your Family First is an action-based company that drives youth, parents and family to "do the real thing."  To notify us of your interest in giving back by teaching, click here (need to insert hyperlink to form that collects their information and sends to inbox for us to follow up).

The Cone of Learning

The Cone of Learning illustrates how people learn best. As Professor Dale noted, after 2 weeks an individual will retain 10% of what they read compared to 90% of what they say and do (experience). *Pay Your Family First is dedicated to creating tools and programs that allow teens to actively engage in ‘saying and doing’.

The Best Way to Learn is to Teach!

E-mail Print PDF

It is often heard in many of Sharon’s books, that the best way to learn something is to teach it. We agree, as long as you are honest with your students! You may feel uncertain about teaching your children about money, or helping them start a small business, because of your own uncertainty. This is why we created the our products. By learning together, you are not only teaching your children essential lessons and skills, you might actually learn a few tips for yourself through the process!

By mastering the ability to “create a business” and to make money doing it, you will see an increase in your child’s self-confidence.
One of the greatest fears we live with is the fear of running out of money. Adults struggle with that fear all the time.

  • What if you could prevent that fear from ever entering your child’s mind?
  • Imagine the power and self-confidence your child will develop.
  • Imagine your child being in control of money instead of being a slave to money.
  • Imagine the advantage—the competitive edge—your child will have with this knowledge and ability.
